How to Check if a Word is a Gerund<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Try replacing the \u2013ing word with a noun<\/strong> like it<\/em> or the activity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example:
I love swimming<\/strong>. \u2192 I love it<\/strong>. \u2705 (Gerund)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if the word shows an action happening now, it is NOT a gerund; it is a present participle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example:
She is swimming<\/strong> now. \u274c (Not a gerund \u2013 verb form)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
